RE: PUBLIC NOTICE: SCHOOL LEAD WATER SAMPLE RESULTS
DATE: WEDNESDAY, MARCH 2, 2022
All the water fixtures used in RSU 63 schools for drinking water or preparing food have recently been tested for lead. Acceptable levels of lead in drinking water have also been lowered. This helps us create a healthier learning environment for our students.
The attached documents provide you with specific information and results for the Eddington, Holden, and Holbrook Schools. Across the district, we have 8 fixtures with lead levels exceeding 4 parts per billion. Lead in our water is not a systemic problem. It is isolated to these 8 individual fixtures. They are all marked as not to be used for drinking. We are working with local contractors on treatment options and replacing fixtures.
