RE: SCHEDULE FOR NOVEMBER 9 - 13
DATE: FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2020
Green Schedule: Maine CDC and DOE’s categorization for Penobscot County continues to remain “Green.” As long as our local RSU 63 health conditions also stay good, students will continue to follow our Green Schedule. However, there are some exceptions next week.
Wednesday, November 11th is Veterans Day: There will be no school on Wednesday, November 11th.
Thursday, November 12th: Holbrook School All Remote
Holbrook students (Grades 5 through 8) and staff will be all remote both Thursday, November 12th and Friday, November 13th. These two days, in combination with Veterans Day on Wednesday, November 11th, will provide time for an asbestos abatement company to remove tile in one of our Holbrook classrooms. The classroom is not currently being used and we are looking forward to getting the instructional space back.
On Thursday, November 12th, Holbrook students will follow the RED schedule. That schedule will be provided by our teachers through our Sunday evening email process. Thursday, Nov. 12th will include morning meetings as well as instruction through Google Meet video conferencing for all our Holbrook students.
Friday November 13th: We will all follow our typical all-remote Friday schedule (PreK – Grade 8). Holbrook staff will continue working remotely on Friday, November 13th.
As the winter months approach and people spend more time inside, we anticipate an increase in the prevalence of COVID-19. Unfortunately, we have started to see increases already. The number of COVID-19 cases throughout the state has been on the rise over the last few weeks. We remain hopeful this will not result in the RSU 63 having to pull back from providing at-school learning. However, if Penobscot County is categorized as Yellow by the Maine CDC and DOE, we will shift back to our Yellow, Pod A/Pod B schedule. Please help us by continuing to emphasize pre-screening for symptoms before coming to school, physical distancing, mask wearing, and hand sanitizing.
