September 28, 2023
This morning a teacher noticed an unfamiliar vehicle with New York plates in the Eddington school parking lot.
Out of an abundance of caution the school notified the Sheriff’s Department. The driver of the van did not
exit the vehicle nor interact with any of the students or staff. While it is suspected that the driver was just
using the parking lot as a “rest stop” I appreciate the diligence of the Eddington staff in erring on the side of
caution and notifying the authorities. The safety and well-being of the students/staff will always be our first
and foremost priority as a school district.
With this in mind; “See Something, Say Something”. Together we will ensure that our schools remain a safe
place for everyone.
As always, if you have any questions, or if I can be of any assistance to you, please do not hesitate to ask.
RSU 63 Superintendent of Schools
In our efforts to use our resources more efficiently, RSU 63 is continuing with our new way to track our transportation needs and keep our students safe. An RSU 63 Bus/Van Pass will be required for all students utilizing the RSU 63 Transportation System.
We are asking you to complete a form for your student in RSU 63 that will need transportation for the 2023-2024 school year by August 15, 2023. You will need to submit a form for each student.
Your student(s) will receive a Bus/Van Tag to show their bus/van driver when they board an RSU 63 vehicle. This will also help our drivers with their student seating logs and allow us to create more efficient and timely transportation routes for the students of RSU 63. We understand there may be a time or two where transportation needs change and we simply ask that you keep us updated! With the fluctuation of fuel prices, RSU 63 is working hard to remain fiscally responsible to our tax payers all while keeping our students safe!
RSU 63 is in the process of gathering information from community members, students, and staff with the goal of developing a vision of what we want education to be in the future for our students. The direction set in this process will become the basis of an education plan to guide our school system over the next few years.
We respectfully ask for a few moments of your time to complete a brief survey.
Your input is extremely valuable to us!
Originally enacted to mark the end of World War I (11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month), Veterans Day now celebrates and honors all who have so proudly served their country in the armed services. This Friday we will close our schools in recognition of Veterans Day. Please help our students understand the importance of this day and why we have a “long weekend” this week.
While our first thoughts may be of those brave men and women currently serving in uniform in lands both near and far, we are also mindful of those soldiers that walk amongst us right here in our District. Please help me in thanking those employees and family members of RSU 63 who so proudly and honorably served our country:
To all of those who served, and to all those family members who supported them-
With appreciation and admiration,

As a parent, I both regretted and relished receiving the “back to school letter”. While I was excited for the school year to begin, I also knew it meant that summer was coming to an end. I suspect that you too are receiving this letter with mixed emotions. For me personally, I write this letter with great anticipation for a new school year. But even with more than 30+ years in education, I still find myself having a little less sleep each night as the date draws closer to opening day.
To help you prepare for the school year, please keep in mind the following information:
Holden Elementary Open House: Monday, August 29th at 2:30pm
Eddington Elementary Open House: Tuesday, August 30th at 2:30pm

RSU 63 Interim Superintendent
Dear Students, Staff, and Families:
After more than 30 years in education and more than 24 years in school leadership roles, I am very pleased to be now serving as your Interim Superintendent.
I have spent the past few days meeting teachers, community members, and other administrators in preparation for our next school year. The common thread of all my conversations continues to be the high quality of the teachers/staff and the capabilities and potential of the students. As the Superintendent, I will challenge the capabilities of students and accept nothing less than them reaching their fullest potential. Likewise, I will challenge the teachers to continue their growth as professionals and to find ways to ensure our students’ success.
This summer the School Board will embark on a process to revisit and revise the School District’s vision and develop a strategic plan to help drive our District forward. There will be opportunities for parents, students, and community members to participate in the process and we hope that you will take the opportunity to share your thoughts and ideas with us.
It’s an exciting time in our community as we work to chart the path forward for our school district. I look forward to being part of that process and look forward to supporting the families, students, and staff of the Clifton, Eddington, and Holden communities.
In the meantime, if I can be of any assistance, or if you have any questions feel free to contact me (207)-843-7851 or email me at email@example.com.
With best wishes for a safe and healthy summer,
RSU 63 Interim Superintendent

Holden, Eddington, and Holbrook Schools all promote, recognize, and expect positive behavior. Our expectations are taught through our Core Values; Honesty, Kindness, Respect, Responsibility, Compassion, and Courage. Students are recognized for making good choices in a variety of ways including gold slips, kudos cards, and “Busted” slips. We are also aware that incidents of bullying and harassment have a negative impact on school climate and culture as well as academic achievement. This year we have added an online, anonymous reporting system. CLICK ON HEADLINE LINK TO READ MORE.
