Softball: The Holbrook Lady Devils left no doubt who the better team was last evening with a resounding 25-12 thumping of the #5 seeded Milford Team. It all started in the 1st inning when Grace walked, stole 2nd, stole 3rd and scored on Piper' s RBI single. Morgan followed with a walk, both Piper and Morgan stole 2nd and 3rd, Molly was hit loading the bases, Savanna walked forcing in Piper and Morgan stole home on a wild pitch... 3-0 Holbrook ...Kamryn walked leading of the 2nd, stole 2nd, stole 3rd and scored on a wild pitch. Piper followed by walking as well, also stole 2nd and 3rd, and not wanting to be stranded, she also stole home on a wild pitch. After 2 innings, the Lady Devils were up 5-2 after 2 innings...but after Milford shut down our girls in the 3rd Inning, a 3 run Home Run by Milford tied the score at 5 going into the 4th Inning... The Lady Devils exploded for 13 runs in the 4th; Fueled by Grace, Piper, Morgan, Molly and Katie who each scored 2 runs, with Molly and Katie chipping in with RBI singles and built their lead to 18-5 going into the bottom of the 4th. Milford rallied a bit in the 4th Inning, scoring 5 runs to make the score 18-10 going into the 5th Inning. But the relentless Lady Devils attack added another 7 runs in the 5th, thanks to a bases clearing double by Molly and then after giving up a couple runs, Maddie slammed the door shut by striking out the final batter securing the 25-12 Run Rule victory for our girls. Maddie stuck out 7 batters and chipped in with an RBI single in the 5th...Piper Clement was on base all 6 at bats and scored 5 runs, Kamryn & Grace scored 4 runs each and Molly, Morgan and Katie all scored 3 runs each... Shout out to the much improved Lady Devils...Close the book on the season knowing they can compete with anyone....
